You’re going to love how simple it is to make your own table
scarf. Adding a little bit of fabric can bring out texture and add dimension to
your table-top display. Also, this simple scarf can double as a chair scarf!
Just tie one around your kitchen chairs for a little dress-up. They would be
perfect for a bridal or baby shower or even a wedding!</div>

When we moved into our new home a couple of months ago, I
noticed a big dark spot under the edge of one of the bathroom mirrors (see
photo below). It was pretty noticeable, but I knew there had to be a solution.
After looking on the internet for some ideas, I found some tutorials where
people had just added a frame of molding to the outside of their builders’
grade mirrors. The look was totally custom! With the help of our contractor,
who was doing some other work in our home, we put this baby up in about 15
minutes flat! Better yet, the materials only ended up costing around $50.</div>

<span style="font-size: small;">This is probably one of the easiest crafts you’ll ever make!
It just takes a little time to prep and string the items, but other than that
no creative genius is necessary.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div>
<ol style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<li><span style="font-size: small;">You’ll start off by prepping all of your
materials. Take your book pages and fold them into quarters. That just means
fold them in half and then fold them in half again. It looks best if they are
not folded perfectly</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;">Crumple a coffee filter into a ball to give it
some texture. Flatten it out slightly, fold in half, then fold again. I like to
fold it one more time when I’m stringing the filters onto the garland. Repeat
with all of the coffee filters.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="-moz-font-feature-settings: normal; -moz-font-language-override: normal; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height: normal;"> </span>For the ribbon, all you need to do is cut it
into strips with the ends at an angle. Each piece should be 4” – 5” long.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;">With the tulle, you will want to end up with 2”
– 3” pieces. Really it doesn’t matter if some pieces are bigger than others. I
like to fold my tulle several times in the same direction and cut long strips.
Then I cut those strips into squares.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: small;"> Thread the needle with the same string and knot the end, leaving about 8" of string. Starting with a book page, thread it on. </span><span style="font-size: small; line-height: 115%;">Then a white coffee filter and the dark brown ribbon, followed by the cream
tulle. When you put on the ribbon, fold it in half and thread through toward
the ends. This way, the loop part will be bigger. Add another book page, then a
natural coffee filter, a light brown ribbon and the brown tulle. Repeat until
you have used up all of your materials.</span></li>

<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
My family just made a big move from Virginia to Utah. Back to
what I know and where I grew up. It’s definitely refreshing. But moving to a
new home can be stressful; boxes to unpack, a yard to care for (a totally new
concept for us), an unfamiliar neighborhood to come to know. It takes awhile to
get into your normal groove and feel comfortable. And let’s be honest – I am
hoping that in two years I’ll all of my pictures hung on the wall! </div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
But one thing is for sure--clearing out all of your stuff
and starting anew allows you to look at things from a different perspective and
make a few changes by way of décor. Adding a pop of color here and there can go
a long way in brightening up your room. And why not create a pop of color that’s
not only attractive to look at but also has a function? Here we go with the
Ruffled Kitchen Towel.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
And as a side note, not all of my articles are going to
involve sewing or any other complicated skills. I’m more of a simplified glue
gun type of girl. I wanted to keep these “Small and Simple” tutorials just as
they suggest – small and simple.</div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">

2 2. Once you have done the clean finish on all of
the edges, go ahead and fold over one of the long sides of each strip and
stitch a straight stitch. This will be the bottom edge of the ruffle and will
show, so you want it to look nicely finished. You can stitch the short sides of
each strip as well.</div>

3 3. Now for the ruffles! There are lots of different
ways to create a ruffle. I recently discovered that you can just gather and sew
the strip into a ruffle as you sew it onto the towel. So simple!</div>

I like the look of the diagonal
ruffle, so I just made sure to pin 4 pins to hold my fabric strip in place so I
could sew the ruffle that way. Just work one ruffle at a time, overlapping the
ruffles by about ¼”so you don’t see the towel underneath.</div>

Eek! I guess you could say I took the summer off. It has just been so busy.<br /><br />Last month my hubby and I moved from Virginia to Utah for a few months and then we're back off to Virginia at the end of the year. If you have ever seen my studio at its worst, you'll know that I had a big job ahead of me when I set out to pack it up. I think that took at least two of the months of my summer blogging break. Okay, maybe not that long. But it was certainly a task!<br /><br />I am definitely happy to be in Utah for a bit. I have a nice space to create in while I am here and I am soo excited to be getting ready for the holidays. There are lots of interesting items waiting to be made. Halloween decor is well under way! I've made lots of spooky bottle brush trees and wreaths and need to take photos to post here on my blog. I don't even know where my camera is! Don't you love the disarray of moving?<br /><br />And here's some sad news - Snow Days is off! :) There just wasn't enough support to get it off its feet but it's definitely still a possibility for a coming year. The idea is just too much fun to let go. Cross your fingers for next year, people!<br /><br />Here's another day to creating! Oooh, have you ever been to a store called the Paper Source? They also have an <a href="http://www.paper-source.com/">online shop</a> you need to check out. I just love their motto: "Do something creative every day."Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630437019463219517.post-36371126922282002172009-06-08T17:47:00.003-06:002009-06-08T17:56:59.319-06:00UtahSnowDays.com is Up and Running!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.utahsnowdays.com"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 100px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKZYBeTCYytA_-u7-FaqL9fJ3W-6aX1XcROWQ-ed8H9fFIkKAsDljkn08K9bySW575imo0jTWO6vauy1CzO01Q9NC635MBg6dszUIV-kFz_VHRkOMuROKgR5iK6ygfj78toYrOHvI0FqU/s320/SnowDaysLogoHeader.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345109545682835634" border="0" /></a>Finally! I have to give a shout out thank-you to Shar from <a href="http://www.bagsthatfit.blogspot.com/">Bags That Fit</a> because she motivated me to get the Utah Snow Days website up and running in a timely manner. It's now much better than the "Coming Soon" page!<br /><br />So, all you gals (and fellas), go to <a href="http://www.utahsnowdays.com/">UtahSnowDays.com</a> to take a look and tell me what you think! I have to toot my own horn just a bit here because I did all of the designing and building ON MY OWN! I am proud of myself for making myself learn how to make a web page that actually works. Oh - and look at the little icon on the left side of the URL while you are on the page. I figured out how to do that little baby too!<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.utahsnowdays.com"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 340px; height: 91px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhbqRQLSaZOgw_mTJ_kpBBC0H86CEWdY80274AasqLGTf6slZvSatQlfa2JqvWOtvllWXs3jmG1P22Tf9bIqDkxM9vn4qDULVqomWysqxdmPcX9bmtCXkbwvIdeHlxn0Jj_K3HdtS8m0c/s320/Grandmas.gif" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5345109549573866290" border="0" /></a>OK, you'll notice that all of the pages aren't totally done because I still have a few things to figure out and more commitments to get for the participating stores, but those will come soon.<br /><br />Snow Days is getting closer and we're getting excited!<br /><br />Let me know if you have any questions about this thing, please!Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com26tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630437019463219517.post-78110142633936898722009-05-28T14:38:00.004-06:002009-07-29T12:06:44.862-06:00Something PrettyFor a long time I've just been wanting to create something "pretty". Perhaps the warm and bright weather is inspiring me to create something light and cheery!<br /><br />On a recent trip through the Carolinas and on through Georgia, I picked up some fun mixed media materials including these antique bottles. Many of them came from Savannah. I then added bits and pieces like vintage lace, jewelry baubles, millinery and ribbons. Now a couple are for sell in my <a href="http://www.jenniboriginals.etsy.com/">shop</a>! The rest, plus many more, were sent to my accounts in Utah. Let me know if you'd like specifics on where they are located!<br /><br />Click on an image if you'd like to see a close-up!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUX2qjDsZvz05M5tuhrhOclEAcWJDbVpY1yyA7QyCo6ycF0jlEHsGeipVE7CSyk5C-nhsUhNhzmZTIHBZ8-V974wthgUDmHGkzJvqivhwNxKg0cCYAjpAbsXTUKzQhQNCqjn4h0HhlW4A/s1600-h/Bottle+Pink.jpg"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; Introducing <strong>Utah Snow Days: A Holiday Shopping Tradition</strong>. This is going to be BIG, friends! I am speaking to all you girlfriends of mine that live in Utah. Get ready for November 12-14, 2009 because you're going to have a TON of fun!<br /><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325040787381369042" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 122px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMlloc-3WmIKNIrX7g2K-59tf-BlkhinV5eoB51ckMvuM2j-E0HJMgTojz2uISBN1A1JCp60mmYPsUnP38lODkIB-Cdz-L5OiFKcurZUPHy48ExIACSDB7n9-_p0KgdhKnHSQYFAaAMws/s320/snowflakes_2.jpg" border="0" /><br />My favorite small stores up and down the Wasatch Front are opening their doors to the Snow Days shoppers for this three-day event with discounts galore and even darling charms (different charms at every store) that come FREE with your Utah Snow Days ticket. If you visit all of the participating shops, you can turn in your ticket with your personal information for an incredible grand prize drawing (and runners-up prizes as well!). </p><p>SIGN UP FOR THE NEWSLETTER FOR UPCOMING INFORMATION at <a href="http://www.utahsnowdays.com/"><strong>www.UtahSnowDays.com</strong></a>!<br /><br />The fact is, it's no small secret that I LOVE shopping. And now I want to share all of my favorite stores and finds with YOU!<br /><br />UtahSnowDays.com is not ready for viewing yet, but it will be within a couple of months. In the meantime, if you would like to participate in Utah Snow Days as a store or as a shopper, I'd love to hear from you!<br /><br />Why is it called Snow Days? Because every year my mom and sisters and I get together for "Snow Day" and go to all of our favorite shops from sunup to sundown to see the latest in holiday gifts and decor. We want to share our Snow Day with all of our fellow Utah girlfriends. </p><p>So come one and come all . . . get yourselves ready for three fun-filled days of shop-til-you-drop. If you're like me, the color of choice for the cold season is black. But there are so many great colors in style this season that will bring out your bright side. Red, bright blue, & purple are all in!<br /></li><li><strong>Take a hike.</strong> Or just a little walk. Getting your blood pumping through your legs will bring color to your cheeks and a boost to your creativity while clearing your head. I should probably take my own advice on this one.</li><br /><li><strong>Spring clean early. </strong>You'll be ready to enjoy the weather if you get to your Spring cleaning a little early. My advice would be to pick one day of the week to dedicate just one hour of deep cleaning. Starting from your top floor and working your way down to the basement, take one room (or floor if you have time!) and clean for one hour. Keep focused and don't stop until the hour is up. Set a timer to motivate you!</li><br /><li><strong>Add a little color to your surroundings.</strong> Though it's just bhech outside, it doesn't have to be the same inside. Bring home some fresh flowers from the grocery store to enjoy throughout the week. Try taking big, brigh blossoms and arranging them in a short vase to set on the table to enjoy during meals.</li><br /><li><strong>Be inspired. </strong>Just looking at pretty photos of Spring can bring something warm to your heart. Take a look at this flickr search of <a href="http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=spring+flowers&m=text">Spring Flowers</a>. However, don't get carried away and look at all 553,513 images!</li></ol></div></div></div>Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630437019463219517.post-50117137125391428172009-02-03T18:42:00.007-07:002009-02-03T19:08:24.611-07:00Tutorial: Make a Giant Heart Valentine!<div align="center">This year, give your Valentine something special! A Giant Heart Valentine. Handmade items are always treasured and this one can be saved from year to year!<br /><br /><br />This is my first tutorial on my blog, so enjoy!<br /><br />Materials needed for the Giant Heart Valentine:<br />Tissue paper or large piece of newspaper<br />Scissors<br />Pen or pencil<br />Poster board<br />Tulle in pink or red<br />Decorative paper<br />Glittered letters<br />Seam binding or other ribbon<br />Paper medallions or other decorative elements<br />Ribbon for hanging<br />Hot glue<br />Glue stick<br /><br /><br /></div><div align="center">1. First, trace a large heart on a piece of tissue paper or newspaper. It’s easiest if you fold the paper in half and draw half a heart along the crease of the paper and cut it out with the fold still intact. Make sure your heart is big enough; 18 - 22 inches works well. Trim as needed.<br /><br /></div><div align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298754210367704322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnNNhpWlLhkeP2PkIICWLLUnidUUXK6nfrO8Go4L2Vpu-OyaajxYxT_rn9te8nnUYfXPr64EfJp9zFVzwfBz4pitv_TqWoUGf2Li2vg9i7eMnOVcTeubgkaxRZP_wHjqhPg282GxjWrvU/s320/113a.jpg" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298754213803607330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGRrux9eXF2JAltYfj5myQZe1B5zaLextKcw8Wv_fxxnnfoEG3UH2V44jJYdhNagJ0xXcgp70YodBczbu6oeCtRxjjq_nfgkls5B5KQnvwDmH4HvPNukKcOwLXmLSgJGRjEs5tjPWfeaw/s320/115a.jpg" border="0" /><br />2. The contest ends on 1/23.</span><br /><br />I couldn't wait to share my latest Valentine's projects with you. I haven't had this much fun crafting in a long time! First of all, look at this fun L-O-V-E garland. I've been wanting to make something like this for such a long time and it finally happened. Large cupcake wrappers, tulle, crepe paper, and mica flakes are a few of the ingredients of this lovely confection. <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19875447">I put it up on Etsy</a> in case it wants to find a permanent home.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292443540819964482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 221px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDhO_41Fo0gNBQ9gUEAJYMN2bLBj8zuq92PCI51TLAsbZSU4UcksbW7Z5U2SPwHnumcHZZABv1PJr8Wtc-lSQewOVWR-M2RBj7X_HvFj36nnjBG9a6wZ-XMgUhikxb_PmEfbqSRATq0yE/s320/DSC01350b.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292443413159920114" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 237px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0m6QJ-VxsBV7xyganV-ecNO7MIpfue6JZ85p_LU1_3VmSr7_tI2LtmoaXfJiHAj_aNPoCc5nOnjHxoDPxtrZ8SJonHAfb6syuVx6muVWx74my9RMfB87zDDPUvO9xNbQXj9exTdRtV4o/s320/1358a.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292443409996241698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 221px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjsNrFFFbzw88Zd4q_LCJHT5pOAOrqRaf3BeI18tohQtJVMmi64RzErAumOEuGdMqt01608sSV_CiH1J0CcAqzFSvE_7QuN_4_XVzWSPKrBKhmdAKkOpEfy31s81s1jdyWVnwqwj4Scoo/s320/1355a.jpg" border="0" /> Then I made up these <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19874362">little tussie mussies</a>. I had done a number for Christmas and I sent them to my mom to show her and she ended up buying the whole lot for herself. Hopefully I can spread the love a little wider this holiday. Tussie mussies are a great alternative to the regular old gift bag. A small token or favorite Valentine treat would fit perfectly amidst the excelsior.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292443395131335858" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 238px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8gp6HXmO0ZT9SVPI2kJfaz9zO-qHZDMGDq9GlsTVRHaJKSa5OzZAVp9xFX0IvHsn3pGa3OY8xis0nvKKLndqxwr83ZVyusikZNXw35vXL7UJHDZAXFy-oX80zFUcN-2YoMav2waevybk/s320/1327b.jpg" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5292443396170644562" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 213px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhZ-Fc07VOUs9NaXTnHI9A1nk1tegO6pOFOUxrA1pPolU3pSlU8aRdB58SdPzZ11icRRpHL_3QENKrTpbVzabYuNEFh6URleoGf3ruwmSjF8UOASkQdBDrU-asa3yoI_-amKWmPdguX5ec/s320/1331b.jpg" border="0" /> Mica flakes, rhinestones, seam binding and neat paper - some of my favorite mediums! The winner will receive a dozen varied styles.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291913578799124482" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 238px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifiMrAMMvdResNUn2kni93rovhD6FYw1wNNgSi1cREPJzeWz5_41TyGGIVEnAWaePwxBiSzo9ju6BBqmFsam9xiTR8B-T9E7uAZL0pIltpbBm2ibOq3MIpeuw9FTrWvHr1Rx7tieWP_ys/s320/056a.jpg" border="0" /> <img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291913584780342338" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 221px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6Rsr0mt5ytYHI32oQ-Szg1pGDqmcMp_Wbf38rpXsXaZiJDzG2_fm_Ac23d_GEVOvmYHhv6YckEGwIgN7qnWz_8Pcoud58slTgcnCVP-MEXzR1Wi3LbC-SjfncE_djmpJVw938wEUQf14/s320/067a.jpg" border="0" /> Here's an example of what your cupcakes will look like when you add the pick. Wouldn't your guest feel special if she had one of <a href="http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=19812771">these</a> at her place setting?<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291913964955893266" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 226px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjl1OumGgldnAkfC9l-ibmnu3_b97tdNRJiBXNdsCCFhkdx1nuqWnzecXkTUgsQW3UsIEiDFKv8um_Xi-RkGXUb_W48Ap_fwfFz_CnCXlgXXhG_AgXvSqCKgstLe1Syy0-IOij4eGvIrKs/s320/064a.jpg" border="0" /> Growing up, my mom always cooked up a beautiful Valentine's Day dinner. She would dress the table exquisitely and there would be a gift for each of member of the family on our chairs. I certainly did feel special! I'm sure if her children still lived under her roof, she'd decorate our desserts with these picks!<br /><br />Just leave a comment and make sure I have a way to contact you if you win. The winner will be drawn on 21st at 5:00 pm EST. Good luck!Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com55tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630437019463219517.post-31780955198978900692009-01-15T09:28:00.006-07:002009-01-15T09:42:49.742-07:00Back Into the Swing of ThingsYou know how when you haven't blogged for so long it suddenly seems difficult to type a few lines to let your friends know how you are doing? That's what I think has been happening to me anyway. I'm glad to be back!<br /><br />The holidays seemed very extended this year and it feels great to get back into the swing of things. Time to get to work! I've been busy creating some exciting things for Valentine's Day and I'm excited to share them with you. Photos are coming soon.<br /><br />Here's some exciting news that I probably could have shared quite some time ago: my Marie Antoinette Faux cake that I posted about for the <a href="http://jenniboriginals.blogspot.com/2008/11/happy-253rd-birthday-ms-antoinette.html">Marie Antoinette Birthday Soiree</a> is going to be featured in <a href="http://www.stampington.com/index.html">Stampington & Comopany's</a> one-time publication, <strong>Marie Antoinette</strong>, due out this Spring! And not only will it be featured in the publication, but also in the Spring 2009 issue of <strong><a href="http://www.stampington.com/html/artful_blogging.html">Artful Blogging</a></strong>. Yay! Here's a photo:<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5291559882530569346" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 251px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaRqLhwUMl6Qih8Himj7DmMEtfW2THmtk08A9iTZfJjwB-UQsFTONrBV2qm5l-HY5zHesGWwQh4Vm-KpIJq-uyiad3kMs_wbBaYBPCkJtApZRJwdC9G59G4sBb_DLkTn1-UnwtVnHbuAQ/s320/042aa.jpg" border="0" /><br />And that's not all! I just did an interview for <a href="http://blog.uvmag.com/">Utah Valley Magazine</a> and I'm going to be in an upcoming issue featuring 50 people in that area (or from that area) that are on the move with their businesses. Exciting! 2009 is going to be a year full of celebrations, I can tell already!<br /><br /><br /><strong>Question for my readers:</strong> What are you excited about that's happening in 2009? Because that day, December 7, 2007, was such a jumping-off point for Jenni B Originals, I've decided to have my very first giveaway in celebration of the first anniversary of this event.<br /></div><div align="left">If you want to see my claim to fame on the Martha Stewart Show, just click on the picture of me and Martha to the right. It will take you straight to the clip on <a href="http://www.marthastewart.com/">http://www.marthastewart.com/</a>!</div><div align="left"></div><div align="left"></div><div align="center"></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274987568437617650" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBKItPAXqCqmU4WG9arwj97LfIlwKRejV3u5RjN2MV6psJR29jUjvcRN2QSGM6J_znq53rP_atjqjmccP7BaxzpvQBvJMRF2mu_8bIcusOqYBOeeSbeq2_9E3GzLanJ2ckRZ4gZBzkhs4/s320/Holiday+2007+025.JPG" border="0" /> <p align="center">This is a shot of the set of the show before filming.<br /><br /></p><div align="left">Because this experience was so special to me, I want to give away something UNBELIEVABLE! Some have heard the story of how when I went to New York City to be on the show, the producers told me to bring as much product as possible to showcase. When Martha saw the set decorated with my things she was in love! During the commercial break between the segments I was on, she asked if I'd be willing to let her take all of the cakes (pictured behind us on the set) and some of the ornaments home with her to photograph for an upcoming book (of which I'm not sure is published yet). What do you think I said? "Yes!", of course! So she had these things of mine in her possession for a few weeks until her <em>personal</em> assistant got them shipped back to me!<br /></div><div align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274986356368603106" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 236px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjRZPxkQrsJMOQ3K6mC8wwefmJWt-_n1Dy_WoGxnPAScq8RRa8aQBNMf1FewLa2MzfYjX0CXaH9jH7FRqlpmGEo1jTltHQFyNKYlGfYmZ0HmsK0KoS2sIao0Duc27rW5vNmjqjLxbHz-s/s320/zwhite+cake.jpg" border="0" />Look where the arrow is pointing and you can see my faux cakes in the background!<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274986355604349922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 241px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnfhKk37CFG_VuyDikaL83MXvL8VwuRnLG8hxsf78TllA0eWHxHSX9f1HXqD5FdTCO3139RTk2a906gD7Qpza0yHYP5w0yI1AqOGLgteStajplY7xZAOk8PTMbHmBc0iIBxBD0DyZ7X1E/s320/MS+Show+3.jpg" border="0" /></div>So why did I tell you this story? Because for this giveaway, I'm going to give THREE lucky winners one of the EXACT (not a copy!) ornaments Martha took home with her and touched with her own <em>Queen of Crafting</em> hands! Isn't this going to be fun?<br /><br />Now I have to say, these ornaments do not have a hanger of any type attached. They are just as the producers of the show left them. You can see they displayed the treats on a cookie sheet. This image is a screenshot taken from the show!<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274990331934758114" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 242px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7YXA2OjbR_gHYqulaDA9__O1u3smgiTv_v7s2FwX5_so_HFyhmis6ETOCbMw_kLiBCvoG_5B41yxJMu4bunEEIHtwsYf_Wv2oV82iEtF4A90_V7c9p_JatCQeIY3K2suySRmVJqWIO9Q/s320/Green+Clove+Martha+2.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div align="center">The faux treats for this giveaway are circled in the photo above.</div><div align="left"><br />I will draw the winners of these ornaments on the anniversary date of December 7 at 8:00 p.m. and the first name I draw will have first choice of ornaments. Well, of course there's the humidity, the usually fair Autumn weather, the southern accents and the confederate fanatics. But there's also a bit of a difference in Holiday decoration.<br /><br /><br />Last Thanksgiving weekend, I visited Colonial Williamsburg and was so enamored with the Christmas decorations on every single window and door. Fresh apples, citrus fruits, greenery and ribbons made up the most beautiful wreaths and hangings. I was so inspired that I purchased a book over the summer, "Christmas Decorations from Williamsburg". It's chock full of gorgeous photos, instructions for probably a hundred decorative items, and recipes. It's so much fun to look through!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843575847543106" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 278px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTUkpRH4tdNg_IhdihdwR-Q7j4lGywJi5_9XA3kvKBwh6gytkyMbjdewgur5eZpbiKAqdfCAhu50R48obTCZmKRPD_lnyu0Pq25iKVbi6fAS0Bo-2ZYXEl92O4T2YJzRJbMbAwxWquLFA/s320/williamsburg+a.png" border="0" /><br /><br />Since I'm just getting in the Christmas mood, I wanted to share some of these fun holiday decorations with you. Maybe I think they're so attractive because they remind me of the simpler times when Christmas wasn't a commercial holiday.<br /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843325885078978" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 258px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzeQ7a2FeJH2uRMCHOLTfLKtOhDOBZeEMCUHevhXVqBRYKeCd6f_KMTihyphenhyphenQiZIZSy8kka7oN9ZRK1OHj8RfYxU-wIFGyejmmq4Z3T9xEHbB66Pq3x1tj3za0eiIHcVcoZat-JNnVXV_rM/s320/williamsburg+5a.png" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843376783678258" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 228px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhlOPG7mQg99OppTkeNcEnZc7OD_BLDwQHMwYt629Dg1Bw4BIMtKMCNNxioMv_xxvypwFkK3ocSFgKYzHMeHz3k7O0aWGO78cxyv2e5JFns1QrP9dil2_he9lMboGdlJZ4mQB2n0EuDEU4/s320/williamsburg+6a.png" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843284293563378" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 255px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhbO-Zy1WFptKgEBsRtLAwkRvMc_SVkhL7aiJ1FzEJSRxXklRJ_5-U7buNiRh4_YgJkwYuxeqVLlefNjJjwxZOlTF6KHQTnbF63Avz-_lAQODNEBdreRuTydfPf9VQ7IBinLc2qaz1ZjLA/s320/williamsburg+4a.png" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843177915032994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 257px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifCoLlcSVXOvfKgbx7uWqYdsXMkjVvRfMqZMF0s-GPk0YW8nAeP7YbIxWan2UR5QHR93vdN1WyseO7SYLyvksFC1pAO684kvVLv9NIuTC53ey4bxt0rD9dVODUmhQ8uTzF8KkmXxWhfnE/s320/williamsburg+2a.png" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270843223501001538" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 257px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 320px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj4znjGJdR6O6IQOhEBuN4kqQCnvL1j2niox3NphMjusdcJ1wEBZZsxtJlE_Tzlc2cQ2eqm9HMTVrSrdEEtQe9OqO8ZOyBXnmsjST8MmozkYsBI-ZrQhaClTAr4MDBi7MEBlQt2gD7eeWY/s320/williamsburg+3a.png" border="0" />This style isn't unique to Williamsburg, but has spread throughout the state as well. I just got back from a day of making Boxwood wreaths for a nearby Country Club. It was such a fun time! And last night I was with a women's group and we put together centerpieces for our holiday tables with fresh greens. I found one of those! <div><div><br /><div></div><a href="http://www.marirobesonhome.com/"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267399322317780930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 86px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhRDDfTZ5IfzAevsPBw3EguR9QNp5JJw3nfeC_W4RyNBMLw_29IYdy9XyWlDqr_ucgSTWI5pLhbqpASwU0gDz-gflUd_RK7NioRNWSb2JADCFCJdpMTMAx25DyaXPkTeDorI5j6bkBce-o/s400/marirobeson2.jpg" border="0" /></a>Through my little blogging world, I came up on the <a href="http://www.marirobesonstyle.com/">Mari Robeson Style</a> blog and just fell in love! Then I realized that this is the same Mari that has been featured in many, many magazines including my favorite, <a href="http://www.romantichomes.com/">Romantic Homes</a>. She and her boutique were featured in the "Shop Keeper's" section in May of this year. I had seen a gorgeous photo of her boutique and wished I didn't live on the opposite side of the country as her Arroyo Grande, California store location.<br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5267398395705185506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi3ZMlVTPukOQCUAP7T_NZxrthVUMJGjk7eSye5am8RJb4gqmk1ci8qDLw4UZfQP4tfwUGDTQ5tJBsBVNTdJnHlgn632-2znXk9b_PWREkcAp62hK5viof8zFW7cVSNizD1rad7MW0NGyo/s320/MariRobeson.jpg" border="0" />Anyhow, I came upon her blog and commented on one of her fun entries. Then, before I knew it, she was contacting me to see if she could purchase my products wholesale to sale in her <a href="http://www.marirobesonhome.com/boutique.php">boutique</a>! Needless to say, I didn't hesitate a bit. We spoke for a few minutes over the phone and she was such a kind, fun person. We instantly connected! (I love it when that happens!)<br /><div></div><div><br />If you are lucky enough to live near the village of Arroyo Grande, please stop by for a visit and tell Mari that Jenni B sent you!</div></div></div>Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4630437019463219517.post-41282911230373975352008-11-01T18:17:00.005-06:002008-11-01T19:06:20.022-06:00Happy 253rd Birthday, Ms. Antoinette!<div><div><div><div>I am honored to be joining many, many of my friends from <a href="http://www.cupidscharm.blogspot.com/">Cupid's Charm</a> for this fabulous Marie Antoinette Birthday Soiree. Let me share with you the "Let Them Eat Cake" cake, designed especially for this event!<br /><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263853126856518434" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 314px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 392px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrnqFHntrY2vRw63sxqLBPp29kVPl4q05HnzXukVtY3ujRkBYigIef1LnsvzmJgtLBIsRiTPPISZoxzUIjjOvu58nAONSKZKLXpAJuFvxbOgR0iwVdIXynB1LvlQSngmIdJd6ZIAMuEcU/s320/020b.jpg" border="0" /><br /><div></div><div align="center">I traveled all the way to France to gather relics to adorn this cake ode to Mademoiselle Marie on her special day. These chandelier crystals were taken from the famed Hall of Mirrors in Versailles, Queen Marie Antoinette's home outside of Paris. Pages of vintage French text were hand cut and attached to the sides. These pages could, perhaps, be actual words of Marie but since I cannot read French they very well may be about bugs and insects. And yards of ribbon from Marie Antoinette's favorite ball gown were removed and carefully recrafted to grace her 253rd Birthday Cake. Ever since I heard about it I started thinking up something yummy and creative to make. See, since Marie's birthday is on November 2, a bunch of us bloggers are going to post photos and descriptions of our Marie Antoinette-themed confections. </div><div></div><br /><div>On that day (this coming Sunday!), visit Joy's blog to see who has posted their creations to their blogs. While I'm not a big fan of Marie Antoinette herself, I just love her unique style and fashion that she brought to France when she was married to the King. That fashion has been so inspirational the past few weeks on many of my creations and I am so excited to share my newest Jenni B Original with you!</div><br /><div>I look forward to seeing what all of my friends have created as well!</div>Jenni Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11546032744952160838noreply@blogger.com3
